Rides! prep for the Bike-A-Thon
Get in shape for BNB’s Bike-A-Thon on June 8th! All are welcome, come out for a fun ride. Both routes start at the same place and time but go their separate ways.
MEET at the BNB HUB
284 Amory St. Jamaica Plain - in the Brewery Complex by Ula Cafe. 10 AM. We’ll be the crowd out in front with the bikes. Bring your own snacks, water, and helmet (required). Join these joyrides free of charge, but we’ll pass the hat. Urban riding skills required for “Long Ride”.
note: John Paul and Esther of Team Bikes Over Baghdad were out with three other volunteers, spray painting direction markers on the 62- and 25-mile Bike-a-Thon routes, and J-P hurt his knee.
What this means for you: they will NOT be leading long training rides this coming Sunday, June 1, as planned but you can still ride them on your own. The family ride is still happening, though (see below)! Contact David Weinstein for more info or just show up on Sunday.
LONG RIDE
The routes are marked, and you can still ride them if you'd like. Look for white markers for the 62-miler and orange ones for the 25. The BNB mark: the letters BNB, with a directional arrow
pointing from the top of the N. These are spray painted on the streets throughout the routes, except in the Blue Hills Reservation. In that area, please refer to the cue sheets.

Esther will be at the Hub around 10 this Sunday to help air up tires if you'd like to start there.
FAMILY RIDE
We'll take an easy pace to make it nice and fun for all involved. Trailers and trail-a-bikes are certainly welcome, as are young and/or inexperienced riders. Short miles, good company! Over the next months miles will increase towards the goal of 15 miles, which is the length of the Bike-A-Thon's shortest ride and the one which draws the most families. Contact David Weinsteing at dweinstein(a)boston.k12.ma.us for more information.
-These rides happen each week - see details on future rides on the Events list!
-Before any ride check BNB's website to confirm!
THE BIKE-A-THON & GREEN ROOTS FESTIVAL is Sunday June 8! Choose from 15, 25, or 62 mile routes. We want YOU! See http://www.bikesnotbombs.org/bat08 for info and to register for the Bike-A-Thon.
